I went to visit the city of Birmingham yesterday, which is about an hour North of Oxford and one of the busiest cities in England. The city is famous for being a medieval market town, but more so for being at the forefront of the industrial revolution. This latter fact is why I like this picture so much. I found myself on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak wandering through a very industrial area toward a retail park when I saw what you see above. Imagine looking at an empty city lot, brick and concrete lining three sides and this forming a barrier for most of the border with the street. Yes, a twenty foot tall wall build using crushed cars as giant bricks. I thought it was pretty cool, I only wish I took a picture from farther away.

The real working class of the UK is in Birmingham and Newcastle.
