I have been trying to take a picture like this for almost a year now, but never really remember to bring my camera to the lab. It was bright and sunny this morning so I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a picture of flowers emerging and the sunshine, but alas I was stuck in lab until the inevitable cloud cover rolled in. I opted to try this shot instead. I make a buffer every so often that is essentially me adding a dye to a viscous solution, and I always add the dye at the end on top. It never ceases to amaze me how pretty the dye becomes when it streaks down the tube. One of my friends in the lab next door who is also into photography, saw me with my camera and said that even a good picture doesn’t do justice to how cool it is to watch that dye. He suggested a movie. Maybe next time I bring my camera I’ll try to film it.
